Michael McGuire has over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, ranging from commercial development to the financial analysis of complex transactions and multi-faceted portfolios of commercial properties.
Prior to founding The Austin McGuire Company, Mr. McGuire was the National Director of Real Estate Valuations for KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. During his five years with KPMG, Mr. McGuire was exposed to a variety of real estate related problems presented by a broad spectrum of KPMG clients in the Americas, Asia and EAME markets.
In addition to his extensive transactional experience, Mr. McGuire has particular expertise in optimizing values for clients by aligning real estate portfolio assets with corporate finance objectives and balance sheet optimization.
Mr. McGuire is a member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and a Member of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute (CIREI) holding the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. Mr. McGuire’s focus is bringing traditional and non-traditional real estate problem solving skills to meet the needs of corporate and institutional space users.
Mr. McGuire’s skills include solving client problems relating to environmental issues, development analysis, planning and zoning issues, traditional and alternative financial structuring, and architectural and construction issues among others.
Mr. McGuire has participated as a principal in the acquisition and repositioning residential and commercial investment properties throughout the North Eastern United States. Mr. McGuire has provided valuations for regional malls, community and neighborhood retail centers, suburban and CBD offices, multifamily properties, sub-divisions, hotels, industrial properties. He also provides asset disposition work for bankruptcy purposes and real estate tax certiorari work for his clients.

Nancy McGuire has over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate both in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
Prior to founding The Austin McGuire Company, Ms. McGuire was a Senior Manager in charge of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP’s New York Real Estate Valuation practice. In addition, she held positions with Jones Lang Wootton in London and in Chemical Bank’s Real Estate Group in New York.
As a founding principal of Austin McGuire REA, Ms. McGuire brings a wide spectrum of skills to bear on real estate problem solving for businesses, institutions and municipalities. Ms. McGuire provides expertise in transaction and value enhancement services in addition to construction management, renovation and interior and exterior design management.
As a valuation expert Ms. McGuire has been responsible for the valuation of over $1 billion in major office, retail, industrial, healthcare, petroleum, and multifamily properties nationwide for corporate and institutional clients. She has participated in consulting assignments nationwide and abroad and in the valuation of limited partnerships and minority interests for transfer tax, litigation, and gift tax purposes.
Ms. McGuire is a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and has served on the New York Chapter Admissions Committee and on the Appraisal Institute Young Advisory Committee in Washington D.C. She has also contributed to the industry as a lecturer at New York University’s Real Estate Institute and as a lecturer in the J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Inc. Training Seminar.

As a Vice President of Austin McGuire REA Gerard Snover brings over twenty years of real estate experience including investment/development review, strategic planning, sales, leasing, market research, management, contract negotiations and mortgage finance. Gerard Snover’s real estate experience spans all aspects of the real estate industry; from a third generation family owned real estate company to the oldest fiduciary real estate bank in Manhattan. His diverse and unique real estate background has helped him to develop a professional philosophy of client service and real estate expertise.
Gerard began his career in real estate in his family's third generation Real Estate brokerage and appraisal firm in New York developing new technological marketing and analysis aids in a rapidly developing industry. He then joined The Bank of New York as a fiduciary real estate expert managing a portfolio of fiduciary assets including large scale apartment complexes, industrial and office properties, large estate properties and tracts of land for development. He was responsible for reporting and advising high net worth clients as well as trust attorneys and co-fiduciaries with regard to property management, sales, highest and best use, development and re-development. His diverse real estate background and valuation experience contributed to his ability to successfully manage a diverse portfolio of fiduciary real estate nationally. Gerard later joined the Bank's Real Estate lending group in garden City, NY where he served as a client relations manager responsible for business development, portfolio management and commercial loan underwriting.
He then moved to Bucks County, PA where he developed a Commercial Real Estate Brokerage, Commercialquest Properties, where he tailored the firm's services towards unique and innovative marketing products together with a full service philosophy providing clients with the optimum exposure and complete service.
Gerard now resides in Easton, CT, where he currently resides along with his wife and two boys.

Prior to joining Austin McGuire REA, Mr. Ryon spent much of his career in the manufacturing industry as COO of a mid-sized manufacturing company and as an Owner/Operator of a his own Connecticut based manufacturing company.
His “hands on” experience in purchasing, selling, and leasing industrial and commercial properties for his own use as principal and as a manufacturing industry executive provide him with exceptional insight into the client’s perspective in the real estate transaction process. His experience includes the negotiation of tax incentives and financing packages with state and municipal development authorities as well as the management of environmental compliance issues and contract management of complex construction projects.
Fred Ryon has two sons and lives with his wife in New Canaan, CT., where he has been active in the community coaching numerous youth athletic teams and serving on both the Board of New Canaan Youth Football and the Board of New Canaan Baseball/Softball.

As a Vice President of Corporate Services, Tom Preston brings over twenty years of real estate experience including valuation analyses, investment/development review, strategic planning, sales, leasing, management, and mortgage finance. Specializing in Tenant Representation Services, Tom’s most recent accomplishments include the successful placement of The Southfield Center of Darien at 85 Old Kings Highway in Darien, Connecticut, and the relocation of Bongo International Corp.’s national operation’s headquarters located at 315 Seaview Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Tom began his career in real estate as an appraiser in 1985. In 1995 Tom established his own real estate services firm serving lower Fairfield County. In 1999, his firm merged with the Manhattan based real estate valuation and consulting firm of Mitchell, Maxwell & Jackson, Inc., where Tom assumed the role of managing partner in charge of Connecticut operations. The knowledge base established through Tom’s experience in the commercial valuation business created a solid foundation for his current specialization in representing commercial space users at Austin McGuire REA.
Tom is a lifelong resident of Redding, CT, where he currently resides along with his four children. Tom is active within the community as a youth football coach with the Aspetuck Wildcats, has served on the Board of Directors for the Redding Boys & Girls Club, on the Town of Redding, Board of Assessment Appeals, and as a Director of the Annual Golf & Tennis Tournament Fundraiser for his local parish – St. Patrick Church.
