Nancy McGuire, MAI

President

Nancy McGuire has over 25 years of experience in real estate in both the United States and England.  Mrs. McGuire is a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and on the New York Chapter Admissions Committee and on the Appraisal Institute Young Advisory committee in Washington D.C. She has also contributed to the industry as a lecturer at New York University’s Real Estate Institute and as a lecturer in the J.P Morgan Investment Management, Inc. Training Seminar.

 

As president of The Austin McGuire Company,  Mrs. McGuire provides quality real estate problem solving to individuals, businesses, and municipalities in the New York and Connecticut Region.

 

Mrs. McGuire is responsible for the valuation of over $1 billion in major office, retail, industrial, healthcare, petroleum, and multifamily properties nationwide for corporate and institutional investors. She has valued private inns, estates, single and multifamily homes, condominiums, and cooperatives in the tri-state area, and has participated in several consulting assignments nationwide and abroad. In addition, she has participated in the valuation of limited partnerships and minority interests for transfer tax, litigation, and gift tax purposes.

 

Mrs. McGuire also provides value enhancement services to commercial property owners. She has provided investors with property marketing advice, and renovation management. The results of these services were a direct and significant increase in cash flow at minimum expense to the investors.

 

Prior to forming this company, Mrs. McGuire was a senior manager in charge of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP’s New York Real Estate Valuation practice. In addition, she has worked with Jones Langwootton in London and in Chemical Bank’s Real Estate Group in New York.

Michael McGuire, MAI, CCIM

Principal

Michael McGuire has over 30 Years of experience in commercial real estate, ranging from residential/commercial development to financial analysis of complex properties, to acquisition and disposition advisory work for investors and business owners. 

 

Mr. McGuire is a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and a member of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute (CIREI) holding the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation as well as being a state certified commercial real estate appraiser in Connecticut and New York.

 

Mr. McGuire brings traditional and non-traditional real estate problem solving skills to meet the needs of real estate investors as well as local communities and the businesses that reside there. This includes environmental contamination issues, development analysis, planning and zoning issues, traditional and alternative financial structuring, and architectural and construction issues among others.

 

Mr. McGuire has participated as principal in the acquisition and rehabilitation of office properties,  multi-family, and mixed-use projects in Westchester County, New York and Fairfield County, Connecticut. 

Prior to starting the Austin McGuire Company Mr. McGuire was National Director Real Estate Valuation Practice for KPMG Peat Marwick LLP.
